I Digress....

I was hoping to stay away from posting other people's stuff on here, but C453Y sent this YouTube link to me yesterday and I just have to share it with you because it's soooo cute!!

***10pm Sunday
Note: I just took a trip over to CuteOverload and realized they had posted this the same time as me (didn't even notice). Whoops. Now I've really copied ;P Oh well... I'm keeping it here - it's just too darn cute!

Saturday Mornin' with The Sisters

Ah, a relaxing weekend to sit at home in our pjs and play with kittens!

We let the girls out of the foster room to let them roam all around downstairs (setting up a gate - aka, a large box - at the bottom of the stairs, so that Yoko is separated from them), and just left blankets and pillows and boxes and toys all over the place for them to play with. And are they ever having a great time down there!! I keep hearing boxes being toppled over and jingling toys being tossed around.

I also have a big foam mattress I use to put on the pull-out couch when guests come over (the actual mattress on it is pretty hard), and I put that out and leaned it against the couch so that they would have a soft climbing wall. Oh my gosh, they just love love love it!

"There's so much to do and look at! Where do I start?"

"Oh my, what's this big foam thing?"

 "Whee!!"

"I likes this fing lots"

"Mine!"
"No, mine!"

*LICK*

"Boxes, boxes! So many boxes! I love boxes!"

"Hey up there, whatchyou doin'? Come play wif us!"

"I's gonna get you!"

Hehe. Look at all the cat prints in the foam :D

Last Visit Until the New Year

The cat cages at Petsmart were quite sparse today. It's nearing the end of the SPCA rotation month, so not too many are being brought in right now. But, nonetheless, I still had a nice day with everyone that was there. :)

No kittens were there at all, only the adults (so they get prime picking the last few days). I enquired to where my Whisper was, and someone told me that she thinks she was brought BACK to the SPCA main office because she was sick AGAIN. My poor little baby.... I hope she's doing okay. I was going to drop in there after my shift tonight, but something came up so I wasn't able to :( Maybe this weekend I'll get a chance to see if she's still there.

The good news though, was that I saw in our log book that Holmes was there for a short time - and he IMMEDIATELY got adopted! I was pretty darn happy to see that. He's such a wonderful boy :)

Anyway, enough of my chattering and onto the pictures!

Sasha
Sasha was still there from last week (she's the mother of Nikkio that was adopted). Has she ever come a long way in a week. She was MUCH more friendly now that she had relaxed a little, and boy did she talk!

Oh my, I have a terrible memory.
Okay, so, I apologize, my mind has gone blank for this one's name (even though I spent lots of time with her). She's the only declawed kitty of the bunch (and that I've ever seen in rotation, for that matter), but that sure doesn't stop her from jumping and playing! She was very friendly, and oh boy she loved to play!

Rocky
Rocky is the cat in the bunch that has to be separated because he spits and growls at all the others. At first I just stayed away from him (because every time I went near the cage he eyed me and gave me a warning growl). After I did all my cleaning, I opened up his cage and just talked to him from a distance. He stopped growling and eventually let me stick my hand in to pet him. Then, as soon as he realized I was of no threat and that he really was starving for affection, he let me fully stroke his head and ears softly. He closed his eyes and started to purr.
It's kitties like this one that makes me realize why I'm really there. These poor animals have no home and they are so scared - and all they really need is some love.
I know once he gets a home of his own, away from all this ruckus, he's going to be a very wonderful pet.

Halliwell
Last week I called this cat "Halloween", because that's what was written on her collar. Her card said Halliwell, but I always go with what they have around their neck. Today I saw that someone fixed it, and her name is actually Halliwell.
Unfortunately, this kitty is a nasty one. No matter what you do, she's unfriendly. But, again, it's probably just because of her current surroundings that she's like that. I eventually had to put her in her own cage away from the rest of the kitties (where I suffered from a severe arm thrashing), and left her be. She eventually curled up and went to sleep.
I hope that the owners that take her home give her a little time to come around.

Pauly
And last, another darling kitty that was sweet as a button and absolutely beautiful. I have no doubts that Pauly will get adopted by the end of the month (or the end of the week). She is playful, talkative, cuddly, licky, and just a plain joy to have around! :)

I'm off to feed the Sisters now. I'll try to get some shots of them while I'm down there! :)

And a HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all those in the U.S.A.! I hope everyone has/had a wonderful day! :):)

GREAT news!!!!!

Okay, I know this is super belated, and I have been meaning to post about it - but for some reason, I've been having trouble finding enough time to get my postings in lately. I am doing all my usual rounds reading all my blog haunts, but due to the fact that I have no ability to post at work and then rarely have time to make a good post when I get home... well, I know I've been lacking! But, I have a great post for today in regards to a couple things.

First of all:
My wonderful, beautiful, sweetheart Mirium.... WAS ADOPTED!!! Oh boy oh boy oh boy! When I went in last Thursday it almost brought a tear to my eye that someone finally took her home. I was just so excited and happy for her. I know she's going to have a wonderful life ahead of her!
I mean, I would have loved to keep her for myself. But I know that would have been very selfish of me towards Yoko. I know that bringing in another adult cat this far into her life wouldn't be fair. Though I am so glad to meet all these wonderful kitties and see them grow and get great homes. :) It really makes me happy.
(Sadly, there's no pictures because she already left for her new home when I got there. But, that's ok ;))

In other good news:
I was given another wonderful surprise when I went last Thursday. I wonder if you can recognize this little gorgeous baby??

That's right!!
It was Whisper!
And she was bright eyed and happy and OH SO BIG! She's growing like a weed!
It's so wonderful to see that she's feeling so much better. Remember when I brought her home from the shelter the first time and she was so very sick? The poor little girl, I had to spend so much one-on-one time with her. It was actually really hard to see her go back to Petsmart. I really had fallen in love with her. Anyway, she's doing wonderful now, and I can see she's made lots of friends there. I know she'll get adopted very quickly with her lovely attitude!

None of the other three from the Foursome were there, unfortunately. Which made me a little sad. But, I'm hoping that I'll be seeing them when I head there this week.

So.... More good news? Absolutely!
Two of the kittens when I worked last week were adopted, too! Wahoo! That always makes me happy!

Pictures of all the cuties are as follows:

  Paws
"Whatchyou lookin' at?"

The Office Christmas Tree

We like to do a little Christmas decorating in every room of the house. For our office, we have a 4-foot Christmas tree, that's fairly basic (just lights, a santa, and a few balls). Because we spend most of our time in here, we have to have some festiveness to enjoy :)

I think someone else likes it, too. ;)

--------------------------------------
Also, I'm still having some trouble taking pictures of the Sisters. They're just so speedy for my little camera, and all the pictures come out so blurry! So, in the meantime, here's a funny video from tonight of the two of them roughhousing.... on my lap! (ouch!) You'll see I actually had to break them up at one point cause it breaks my heart when one of them starts to cry.

Our temporary cat tree - made out of several boxes that we had around the house. The girls just love getting in them!

Toy Talkin'

Thanks to everyone for all the nice thoughts from yesterday. All the well wishes must have helped, because I'm finally feeling a little better this morning :) I think I'll probably head over to Petsmart after all.

Last night, I sat downstairs with my laptop and decided that since I spent all day in bed with Yoko, I'd let the kittens out of their room for a while. As usual, it was fairly dark down there, but I did capture a pretty funny video of Chia talking to a hair elastic.

I've found her doing this to the toys in her room before - and it's super cute the way she talks to them while she's playing with them. I wonder what the heck she could possibly be saying?

"Hey! Come back here, mister elastic! I'm gonna get you!"

Belated Postings

My apologies again for the lack of postings as of late. I've unfortunately been stuck in bed with the flu for days (and still am, but grabbed my laptop to bed today :P).

I wanted to post my visit to Petsmart from last week, since it's been a week since I've been there! I'm still going to try to make it there tomorrow, for at least a couple of hours, if I'm feeling up to it. Going to have to play it by ear.

Mirium (I have been spelling it wrong since I met her, I believe this is now the correct spelling)
She got a lion cut shave and she looks so adorable.
When I was there last week, someone was very interested in her! I really hope she's going to finally get adopted.
I was going to take her, but I don't think she'll be very happy in the little foster room... :( I'm trying to pass the word on to everyone I know that she's there though. She really is one of the greatest kitties ever, and deserves a good home.

Sally was still there, to my surprise. She's such a pretty girl.

 Girly-Girl
She lived up her name. She was a sweetheart too. Quite the set of lungs on her :)

The back kitten is Bling, one of the kitty's from another foster home. She's really playful and cute. I don't remember the marmalade-kitteh's name, unfortunately (on second look, I think that's Bart). They were all very sweet though :)

Savy
When I first walked in, I thought this little guy was my Keanu. He looked just like him! (A little less of a brat though ;))

Brothers Moe and Bart
These boys were very mild mannered for kittens. I couldn't believe how nice they were. They were always looking for cuddles :)

Gremlin
Okay, like every visit to Petsmart, I always fall in love with one. And Gremlin was my love last week.
I want this kitty soooo bad! The minute I saw him I fell head over heels. He was SO sweet and SO soft (I kept telling people to touch him because his fur was unbelievable!) and his face is just SO beautiful. I think he has some purebred in him (my guess would be turkish angora, but that would probably be a stretch). His face was very different from any kitten I've ever seen - too bad you can't really tell from these pictures though.

Anyway, sorry that's all I have to offer for now. Back to bed I go! I hope to get more updates in soon. The Sisters are getting bigger every day and I really need to put in a new post of them.
