Has it been almost a week??

I haven't vanished, I swear! This week was bustling with things to do. It's a pain in the rear that I have no ability to post things from work on lunch breaks or anything either (only blogger commenting gets blocked for some reason).

So now it's Saturday and I'm in my jammies with a kitty on my lap and a coffee in hand, therefore it's time for a post!

I have been trying to keep up with still taking pictures and videos of the little squirts. They are getting SO cute (well, not that they weren't cute before ;)). And I have a lot of them to make up for my absence :)

Shoulder Cat

I likes shoulders :)

Climbing on her is fun!

Well, aren't I just the cutest little girl you've ever seen?

I'm too quick to take pictures of.

Catherine's Christmas Cards Came!

Wow! That's a lot of "C"'s up there! :D

Hurray!! Canada Post finally delivered my (very patiently waited) Christmas cards from Catherine over at Corner of Cat's Mind!!

And they are just GORGEOUS!

Yoko immediately had to come check them all out. I wonder if she can maybe smell Banjo on them ;) Regardless, she had marked them as hers now!

I just want to say a HUGE Thank You - Thank You - Thank You again to Catherine for taking the time to make them special just for me, and then sending them all the way to Ontario! I don't want to give them away because they are so cute. I may need to distribute them only to the very close people that I know will really appreciate them (and maybe just keep one for myself) ;)

Yay! :):):)

A little bit about The Sisters

After a couple of days with The Sisters, I'm beginning to get to know their personalities a little bit.

The first thing that I noticed about the two of them is that Chia is the sweet cuddly one and Candy is the skittery crazy one. Chia follows me around wherever I go and wants me to play and snuggle with her at all times. Candy is still a little bit afraid of me, and is very jumpy at any sudden movements or sounds. It's funny that the two of them are completely sisters, as they look very similar, but have completely opposite personalities.

Chia is the pudgy round one. Her name suits her, too, I think, because her fur is very fuzzy and sticks out like a Chia pet (I'm not sure if that's why they gave her that name though).
Candy also suits her name, but not because of the 'sweet treat'... She reminds me more of that snobby popular girl in school named Candy, that's a little ditzy, but thinks she's better than you. ;)
Candy is also considerably bigger than Chia. She's fairly tall, has better control over her motor skills (she moves a little bit like a ninja, I find), and has a much longer body. I would definitely say that she is the 'older' sister of the two.

I could seriously sit down there with them for ages just watching them. Because they're both still so young, they're really funny. They're much different than the last foursome. Maybe it's because they're girls and they only have each other (and full roaming capabilities of the foster room - which they LOVE to tear around)... but they are very different from them. They both have fully explored the room, where I found it took the other four a long time to do. They also don't sleep in the beds that I have out for them - They insist on sleeping cuddled together under the bed (I'm thinking that this will probably change once they're fully comfortable with their surroundings, and are a little bit bigger). The best thing that I'm finding about these two in comparison to the other four is that They. Smell. Much. Better! Maybe because they're female? Maybe because they're still small? Maybe because there's only two? I don't care the reason, it's just refreshing that it doesn't stink as much as it did (not that it really bothers me that much, of course ;)).

I couldn't help missing the other four while I was down there though. I wonder how they're doing at the shelter and if any of them have been adopted yet. I'm finding that every time I've gone into the foster room since The Sisters came, I've been expecting to see all four kitties run towards me. I miss the warm cuddles of my Holmes, the sweet little chirping meows from Whisper, the finger and toe chewing from Keanu, and the funny 6-toed little squirt, Stephanie. I hope they're doing well. ♥

So, here's some videos from this morning of The Sisters in action. I think you'll all be able to tell them apart from the descriptions that I gave of them. :)

"Mom, did I hear that you brought MORE kittens into the house?"

"I should be the only one getting attention, mmk?"

It's Friday, Ladies!

Time to play!!

Video

More to come tomorrow morning when I have lots of light to take pictures of them :)
Have a great Friday everyone!

(Oh my, I just realized how dark that video uploaded. Good news - I'm currently in the middle of changing the light down there to make it a little brighter when needed. It's actually a nice soothing light down there during the evening/night, but it makes it just awful for taking pictures. I will find my way soon - I promise!)

Out with the Old, In with the New.

Aw, I make kittens sound like a pair of rubber boots with that title. Heehee. But, it does sorta fit. ;)

So the foursome have now gone to Petsmart as of today. Holy smokes, it was actually a lot harder to say goodbye than I expected. I suppose that even in the short amount of time that I got to know them, they all found a close place in my heart. I really hope that they get adopted soon, and that they find themselves some good homes - because they're really sweet little babies.

There were a couple lookers for them today, and one really sweet woman that I'm certain will be back tomorrow to adopt one of the two boys. That makes me hopeful and happy :)

I took some goodbye pictures and videos of them at Petsmart to post up for you all to see. And you'll notice, that they've all very much made themselves right at home. I think they're actually going to be okay there for the next little while.

They sure loved that cat tree.

I was a little preoccupied with my littluns, plus there weren't many other kitties there today, so I only took a few of a couple others that were there.

Sally
She has a gorgeous coat, and looks as though she was taken care of quite well. She was super friendly and loved to talk to me. I anticipate that she'll get adopted pretty quickly.

Ginger
Biggest. Cat. Ever.
I would say this big fella weighed somewhere between 15 and 20 lbs.
He looked like he was a bit neglected, but he sure drew in the people today. I think because of his size, everyone wanted to come see him. And there was one couple that was actually very interested in him. I bet he'll probably get adopted fairly quickly too. He was gentle and sweet.

So, on to the newbies.

I got two little girls today. Chia and Candy.

They're both from the same litter and about 3 weeks old. They are VERY cute. I'd say sorta Calico-Persian mix.
And of course, it's dark down there right now, so it's hard to get some good pictures of them. But here's some dark ones for now :)

Time for Winter

Well, where to start...

Now that all the Halloween festivities are out of the way, I can sit down and actually make a real post! Hurray!

It's been a busy couple of weeks, and as much as I love Halloween and October, I'm ready for November.
I really like November because it's that nice little break between Halloween and Christmas. I can just come home and put fuzzy jammies on and play with the kittens.

So, as it has been asked -- Where are the kittens now?

They're still here with us, and they are terrific.
I took them into the SPCA on Friday and they had their shots - minus Whisper because she was from a different litter (she will go in this week for hers). I spoke to one of the girls there for quite a while, and it looks like they just got in a bunch of new littluns for me to take home when these guys go into Petsmart. As much as I want to scream, YAHOO!, it's going to be a very quick transition. As I'm back to work at Petsmart for the month of November, I'll be taking these guys with me on my first visit this Thursday. When I'm finished at Petsmart, I am to stop at the SPCA on my way home and pick up the newbies. It's going to be FAST. I'll have to make sure everything is clean and ready for them Wednesday night.
From what I understand, these guys are just bitty babies. So, I'm looking forward to meeting them. If they are little enough, I think I'll start them off in the cage.

My current batch (I'm going to have to address groups of them by something in the future, as other foster sites do - and now I see why ;)) are getting SO big now, and boy do they love to climb everything. Because we had to put them in the ensuite/walk-in closet for the weekend for the Halloween party, they began exploring more than they ever had.. and well, I'll just say I have plenty of laundry to do now ;)
On Halloween night, everyone was eager to meet them. Once all the kids had stopped coming to the door, and all the guests had arrived, I found Yoko asleep on my lappy, so I closed the office door and let the kittens free. And they. just. loved. it! They were into everything, & chased and chased, and played with everyone... it was so great. Eventually they tuckered themselved out, and we put them to bed. They were so good :)

So, that's it for now. I'm off to clean out my closet and do my laundry. The kittens are back in the foster room again. I admit I'm going to be very sad to see them go on Thursday, but I've really enjoyed having them here. I'm also really looking forward to meeting the new little guys too! :)

"Arrrrooooooo!"

Snuggly brothers, Keanu and Holmes

Pretty girls, Stephanie and Whisper
"Hey, no flash photography!"

It appears that Holmes is blinking at the flash, but really, he was just sitting there purring at the top of his lungs with his eyes closed.

Again, resting his eyes while kneading my knee... He is such a lovebug!

"Ooo, a camera. Can I play with it?"

Halloween

Does it have to be over already? :(
