Waaahoooo!!!!

At about 5:00pm last night, while sitting down in a local restaurant with the man, enjoying the Olympics over a frosty mug of ale and nachos (my favourite!), I got the phone call on my cell.

"Hi there, I'm pleased to let you know that you are the successful candidate for the Account Manager position!"

DARN TOOTIN'!

It was a night of celebration. :)

Unfortunately, as I mentioned. That's going to eliminate my extra day a week to volunteer at Petsmart/SPCA. I'm going to work there next week for sure, but after that, I'm going to have to call it quits. I'm really sad that I won't be able to do it anymore, but it was wonderful to do it for the few months that I did.
But that's not end all. I'm going to see what I can do in my time after hours, once I establish how things are going to work around with my new job.

Today, I'm home, with a curled up purring fuzzball between me and the keyboard as I write. She's such a little sweetheart and adores it when I'm home.

We've been talking about getting another pet recently. I've tossed around starting with something small, like a fish or a hammy, as to not disturb Yok too much. Of course, I want to adopt another cat, but I still can't bring myself to do it - for fear it'll just make her upset. I would consider getting a boy, if we did, so that there isn't as much of a female-dominance issue... but still. We'll see. ;)

Well, I'm off to shovel the driveway. We had a huge dumping of snow last night. Hope the winter doesn't last too much longer!

A little update

I finally got the call last Saturday morning to let me know that the kitty at SPCA at her babies (Yay!). They told me they were ready for me to come and pick her and the kitties up. Well, I was over the moon excited. I just had to get the room set up and I was going to get them within the next few hours.

Then, about 5 minutes later, they called back to tell me that they had already assigned the group to another foster family. :( Apparently the girl I had been dealing with wasn't aware of that at the time. Sigh, oh well.

I told them I was willing to take any kittens at all, if they had any. But, apparently they don't. There is, however, another mother ready to give kittens any time now too. So, she told me as soon as that happens, they're mine, for sure. Woo!

Haven't heard a peep out of the other shelters... I leave messages all the time, but never get word back. I'm going to take this as a good sign, considering it's quite cold where we live... I'm hoping that there isn't a lot of 'outside breeding' going on right now.

I will continue to come back for visits on where things are at.

In other news, I'm trying for a career change. Keeping my fingers crossed that things will pan out the way I want. Only thing is, is that I may not be able to do the Petsmart gig anymore if they do. Been thinking about alternatives to this site in case that happens. Sorry of the small amount of pics and posts as of late.

Now I'm off to watch a very important hockey game.... Shall return soon!

There's a pregnant kitty at SPCA today. Apparently, we may be able to take her. I'll make sure to follow up FOR SURE. May take a few days, but I'll let everyone know! Keep your fingers crossed! :D

Superbowl Sunday

Well, it's not all cat pictures, but I think I'll post anyway, just for fun! Most are cute anyway :D

It's Friday!!

And I'm off, woohoo!

As much as I adore my month at Petsmart, every other month having a "me-day" is awesome, too.
Sleep in with my snuggly kitty, and then get some much needed house errands done!

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day outside, too. The sun is shining really strong, and it makes me happy that spring MAY just be somewhere on it's way.

I was in the kitchen making my coffee, and in came Yoko to tell me how much she loves the sun, too. I went to grab my camera in time (as she was just chirping away happily in the kitchen), but of course, as soon as I got the camera, she stopped. But, I did get a cute video of her on my (very dusty (as I mentioned, today's housework day :P)) kitchen table and chair, basking in the warmth coming through the window. :)

Thank You to everyone who still comes to visit during these quiet days.

I have been in touch with SPCA, our area's Petsave, and an additional Shelter for fostering... and still, nothing.

I never received a confirmation for me to take Mircrell, unfortunately. So, I really... feel sort of lost at the moment. I'm trying to let everyone know that I'm determined to help out wherever I can, but I suppose the season is just too slow (which, imo, is a great thing).

I will be back. Don't lose hope, I am still actively (daily) reading all you wonderful blogs out there. I will find something to post about soon. :)
